Packages that use UUID
java.util Contains the collections framework, legacy collection classes, event model, date and time facilities, internationalization, and miscellaneous utility classes (a string tokenizer, a random-number generator, and a bit array). 

Uses of UUID in java.util

Methods in java.util that return UUID
static UUID UUID.fromString(String name)
          Creates a UUID from the string standard representation as described in the toString() method.
static UUID UUID.nameUUIDFromBytes(byte[] name)
          Static factory to retrieve a type 3 (name based) UUID based on the specified byte array.
static UUID UUID.randomUUID()
          Static factory to retrieve a type 4 (pseudo randomly generated) UUID.

 int UUID.compareTo(UUID val)
          Compares this UUID with the specified UUID.
